The 2019 Youth Summit will be held at Northern Kentucky University on Saturday, October 12, 2019.

Our 2019 Youth Summit theme is: Sharing Our Stories.

This year, Youth Summit will be the day after National Coming Out Day. Building on the power of Coming Out narratives, Sharing Our Stories seeks to highlight the power of personal testimonies and the ability for participants to leverage their stories to bring about the change they seek in schools and communities. We are seeking workshops that connect to our theme through one of the four focus areas below.

Who We Are: Workshops that explore LGBTQ+ identities.

Where We've Been: Workshops that highlight the diverse and powerful history of LGBTQ+ people and other social movements for change.

Where We're Going: Workshops that focus on helping young people identify how to make change in their schools and communities.

How We'll Get There: Workshops will help young people build confidence to create change, such as by identifying their leadership style, exploring aspects of mental health and physical health such as yoga and self defense, and ways to sustain oneself in this work.

We will also accept workshops that align with the mission of the GLSEN Greater Cincinnati Youth Summit to create a safe space for LGBTQ+ and straight supportive youth to meet, learn, and network in order to provide the tools necessary to actively participate in the civic process, introduce friendships, increase awareness of issues concerning these youths, as well as decrease stereotypes and discrimination.
All Workshops will be 50 minutes in length.

Deadline for Submissions: September 15, 2019
You will be notified if your workshop is selected by September 20
